Quag's Corner Interviews
Alex Borstein
Malachy (Quag's Corner):
Have there been any major differences between the first time around
making Family Guy and the return?
Alex Borstein: We're all a lot older and fatter. Seth is much
more of an asshole... I'm kidding!!! We have some new writers and
new animators and new ideas, but otherwise it's the same old same
old.
QC: How is everyone on the staff?
AB: We are fine thank you, how are you?
QC: What one word best summarizes the
trip from when you found out Family Guy would be returning and now?
AB: The trip? One word? How about, "APPLE."
QC: We know you're a very busy actress
apart from Family Guy, what have you been up to since season 3 of
Family Guy aired?
AB: Been keeping busy doing a lot of writing and
developing. Did a couple films and a live comedy special that we're
hoping to get in the Toronto Film Festival this year.
QC: It's the general consensus that
"Lethal Weapons" was by far one of the best episodes of the series,
can we expect any more Lois based episodes in the upcoming season?
AB: There's lots more comin' .... maybe too much?
QC: Can you run me though a day in the
production of Family Guy?
AB: Every day differs, but generally we get in the
morning and start in the writer's room. We create stories, write
gags, re-write gags, re-write scripts, watch new animation as it is
delivered, or have a table read of the latest script to hear it out
loud. Or we are recording.... any one of those things can be going
on at any given moment.
QC: Can you give us any spoilers on the
upcoming season?
AB: Lois dies and is replaced by her sister,
played by Sandy Duncan.... oh wait, that's the Hogan family.
QC: Have you ever surfed the net to look
at some of the Family Guy fan-created sites? If so, which ones have
you noticed?
AB: I've seen Planet Family Guy.
QC: Any closing words?
AB: Thanks for being fans and keeping us alive!
Here's hoping we come out swingin' in May 2005! |
