Site Interviews
Chris Reilly
Quag's Corner: Tell me a
little about yourself.
Chris Reilly: My name is
Chris Reilly. I am coming onto 17 and ever since 98' I have
had a huge amount of interest in personal computers.i Before
I used a computer I was using my time collecting TV items
and anything else I could come by, I often went down the
local collectors shops buying and selling. Business has
always been a great hobby of mine. These days I spend my
time online, soon I hope to start selling sites weekly I
would also like to sell domains and misc' stuff too. I
havemany contacts to boost my sales, and I hope in the
future I can grow and be successful and hopefully my bonus
will be some cash.
QC: What made you want to
take over Alltoons?
CR: I was always a fan of
cartoons as a kid, I grew up in a Simpsons fan based home, I
collected Simpsons, owned Simpsons sites and forums too.
After leaving the Simspons community to concentrate on being
staff at a few forums I was at, one having 88,000 members I
learnt alot. In the space of six months I came from a
business fan, to a small businessman. I learn new things
everyday and people recognize it. From being in the
community, I knew some webmasters who were hosted on AT. I
was contacted by the owners with a offer to purchase AT, I
seem it as a good deal and sent cash within minutes of
chatting.
QC: On average how much
time do you work on Alltoons every week?
CR: I have only owned it
for a couple of weeks now, my first two days spent around 8
hours just helping people. It calmed down a little though.
Not much work has been done by me, I have to give thanks to
Dan; he has helped alot.
QC: Do you have any other
projects besides your site going on right now that you can
tell us about?
CR: I recently owned a
network of sites 'Plus Sites' but sold it to fund for other
things i wanted. I aim to become a big seller on eBay and
marketplace forums. I am also setting up a webmaster forum,
hopefully it will go down well. All Toons is also being
worked on now. I have many ideas, many. The future is bright
for AllToons, but not Orange.
QC: What's your best
advice to someone interested in starting a site?
CR: I would say, never
ever make a site for what people like. Make a site about
what you like. You need something you are intrsted in. If
you own a site, I would suggest trying to get some income
from it if you have cash going out. But if you are hosted
for free from IE AT. Then basicly enjoy it, save cash, work
hard and do what you do best which is making content about
what you like.
QC: Any closing words?
CR: Not sure, exit always
seems to be a good closing word. End too maybe? Or finish.
Nah if you ever need free hosting, need advice or help
contact me at chrisreilly@gmail.com and we can work it out.
